Tropical Cheers: A Celebration with Purpose

At Diamond Heating & AirTemp Alaska, we’re dedicated to our customers and community, and our holiday celebration this year truly reflected that commitment. Our holiday party was a memorable blend of entertainment and philanthropy, taking a unique twist on the traditional holiday theme.

When you think of holiday parties, you may envision Christmas lights, candy canes, and cookies. However, we decided to take a different approach by transporting our theme to a more tropical destination – Hawaii, to be precise.

In August, we all witnessed the devastating wildfires that swept through Maui, leaving its people without homes and livelihoods. In an effort to support the Maui community, our team organized a silent auction. We procured items directly from over a dozen small businesses in Maui and put them up for bidding. Through this silent auction, we managed to raise a total of $805, which we then donated to Children’s Lunchbox, an organization in Anchorage dedicated to fighting food scarcity.

However, the generosity didn’t stop there. We encouraged everyone to embrace the Hawaiian spirit by dressing in Hawaiian-style clothing. For each person who participated, we made additional donations, bringing our total contribution to an astonishing $1,760 to Children’s Lunchbox!

Our spirit of giving extended to a food drive for the Food Bank of Alaska. Participants who brought food items were entered into a prize drawing with gift cards to local businesses up for grabs, rewarding their generosity.

We also had a blast recognizing style and humor. Prizes were awarded to the best-dressed attendees who truly brought the Hawaiian vibe to life. Shoutout to Tyler and Chris for embracing the theme to its entirety!

An additional shout-out to the magnificent chefs at Altura Bistro, a local favorite. They started the party off right with a delightful cocktail hour. We savored Hawaiian-inspired light bites like Ahi Poke, Spam Musubi, Pineapple Pork Belly, and more. The appetizers set the stage for a mouthwatering lineup of traditional Hawaiian dishes during dinner, including Kahlua Pork and Huli Huli Chicken. And for dessert, we indulged in Coconut Cream Pie and Pineapple Upside Down Cake Bread Pudding.

After our sumptuous meal, the Diamond Heating & AirTemp Alaska team and guests headed to Center Bowl for an evening filled with laughter and bowling. It was a night to remember, combining fun and philanthropy, reflecting our commitment to both our community and our employees.

Thank you to all who played a part!
